Overview
Executive summary
OrthoLite produces sustainable comfort materials for footwear; its OrthoLite India plant in Ambur, Tamil Nadu opened in June 2021. Running Odoo ERP on-premise created scalability limits, rising hardware costs and downtime. Core5, an AWS Advanced Tier Partner, migrated the ERP to AWS.
The challenge
What they were up against
- Infrastructure could not grow quickly enough for business needs.
- Managing hardware was expensive and resource-intensive.
- Periodic outages disrupted operations and customer experience.
- Infrastructure struggled to meet peak demand efficiently.
Our solution
How Core5 approached it
- Hosted Odoo for production and testing on Amazon EC2 with auto-scaling for peak traffic.
- Managed the database with Amazon RDS (MySQL) — backups, patching and scaling handled.
- Stored backups durably and securely in Amazon S3.
- Routed traffic to the application with Amazon Route 53.
- Isolated production and testing with separate VPCs for security and low-risk testing.
